ALE Solutions: 25 Years of Showing Up When It Matters Most

Twenty-five years ago, ALE Solutions was just an idea in St. Charles, Illinois. Today, we’re a national partner trusted by insurance carriers, adjusters, and, most importantly, policyholders whose lives have been abruptly turned upside down.

What hasn’t changed in those 25 years is the heart of the work: helping people find stability when everything feels uncertain. What has changed is the scale, the technology, and the reach, each milestone shaped by real families, real losses, and real moments when showing up mattered.

Here’s a look back at how ALE grew, step by step, into the company we are today.

From Humble Beginnings to the Ultimate Test: Hurricane Katrina

2001–2005 | A Mission Takes Root

In 2001
, Rowena Zimmers turned a vision into reality, launching ALE Solutions from the basement of her home. What began as a small operation was grounded in a big idea: build a company defined by integrity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to families navigating temporary displacement from their homes. Row believed there had to be a better, more transparent way to support policyholders during some of the most stressful moments of their lives—and she set out to create it.

From day one, ALE’s mission was clear: reduce the burden families face when they’re displaced from their homes due to loss of use or catastrophe by removing housing from their list of worries. In those early years, that meant rolling up sleeves and doing whatever it took—solving problems in real time, forming trusted relationships, and learning quickly alongside insurance partners and policyholders.

That mission was tested in a major way in 2005 during Hurricane Katrina, when ALE deployed boots on the ground for the first time. It was a defining moment. The scale was unprecedented, the need was urgent, and the experience reshaped how ALE approached catastrophe housing forever. From that point on, we weren’t just responding to everyday losses. We were preparing to respond when communities needed help the most.

That same year also marked another milestone: ALE provided housing for insurance adjusters for the first time, expanding its role and laying the foundation for future growth.

Building Tools That Make Hard Moments Easier

2010–2017

As ALE grew, so did our understanding of one key truth: speed, clarity, and communication matter, especially when people are displaced.

In 2010 we provided adjuster housing through our Catastrophe Logistics Team during the BP oil spill.

In 2014, ALE launched the MyALE Adjuster Claims Portal, giving adjusters better visibility, faster placement options, and fewer administrative headaches. That same year, ALECares formalized what had always been part of ALE’s culture: giving back and supporting families beyond housing when hardship hits.

By 2017, continued growth led ALE into a new headquarters in St. Charles. It wasn’t just more space, but a step in building the infrastructure to support nationwide responses, especially during peak catastrophe seasons.

A Decade Defined by Innovation and Expansion

2021–2025

In 2021
, ALE was acquired by FLEETCOR Technologies, Inc. (now branded Corpay), opening the door to new resources, deeper capabilities, and expanded reach within the insurance lodging space.

The following year, ALE launched MyALE HOME, the first-ever mobile app built specifically for displaced homeowners. For policyholders suddenly living out of suitcases, the app puts housing updates, communication, and clarity directly into their hands. ALE also unveiled a refreshed brand identity that better reflects our commitment to showing up when it matters most.

In early 2025, ALE’s commitment to catastrophe response was once again on display, with boots-on-the-ground teams supporting families impacted by the fires in Pacific Palisades, California, continuing a legacy of rapid, compassionate deployment during large-scale disasters.

Later In 2025, Tim Perman stepped into the role of President of ALE Solutions within the Corpay family, bringing a people-first focus as the company looks ahead to its next era of growth and innovation.

25 Years Later, Our Mission Is Still Personal

Technology has evolved. Our footprint has expanded. Partnerships have grown. But the core of ALE Solutions remains the same as it was in 2001: helping policyholders find a place to land when life doesn’t go as planned.

And the work isn’t done. We’re here when you need us most.
