ALE Internship Program - Summer 2020

The ALE Summer Internship Program introduces college students to the mission and processes of ALE Solutions. In this role, the ALE Intern will contribute to multiple departments while engaged in on-the-job learning, connecting aspects of ALE to their college studies. Students will work full-time as they experience day-to-day functions of the business, assisting in tasks assigned by department supervisors. The internship experience will include opportunities for students to learn and engage with many departments within ALE, including an opportunity to select an area of focus for the internship and produce a final project that allows the student to apply their field of study to ALE Solutions in a manner that positively contributes to company processes or culture. Students can choose whether to participate in the program for college credit through their college or university.

Daily Functions of this Position:

  • Full-time (40 hours per week), paid internship position.
  • 12-week program running from Wednesday, May 27 through Friday, August 14.
      • Prerequisites: First 4 weeks with an introduction to ALE’s Hotel, Folio, and Relocation Departments.
      • Elective: Final 8 weeks working in a department of interns choosing.
  • Option to receive college credit for internship, if approved by the college or university.
  • Exposure to professional development sessions and other opportunities throughout the program.
  • Completion a final project presentation to ALE leadership team, including:
      • Summary of internship experience.
      • Internship takeaways and discussion of professional goals.
      • Presentation of a research-based business idea for ALE.
  • Continuous professional, life-long development opportunities

  • A headquarters located off the Fox River in beautiful downtown St. Charles, Illinois.

Basic Knowledge and Skills

  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing
  • College majors preferred: Communication, Business, Sociology, Psychology, Marketing, Accounting, Economics, Hospitality Management, Public Health, Humanities (other majors will be considered on a case-by-case basis)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Comfortability with computer programs, including Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized
  • Team player
  • Flexible and adaptive
